In the Beginning

How did it all begin? Where did you get this idea? Did you know about the Camino for a long time? Did you always want to 'walk' the Camino? These are just some of the questions asked of me before hiking El Camino de Santiago (Frances). That would be in English: Starting  on the french side of the Pyrenees Mountains (St. Jean de Pied de port, France) and walking across Northern Spain to the city of Santiago.

My answer, in short, is that this journey was truly a divine inspiration. Synchronicity played its part 'for sure'. And while I had heard of the Camino indirectly from a friend of a friend (now no longer friends), anyone who knows anything about divine inspiration knows it is very hard to deliniate the exacct moment in time. It was a culmination of things that led to the 'knowing'. The journey took off from there. In fact, my Camino started when I announced on Christmas Eve to my family that I would embark on traveling to France sometime in May to hike The Way of St. James.
